The Lie-Nielsen Independence Carcass Saw is based on a Sheffield-made saw from the 1830s. English backsaws from that era represent the pinnacle of the sawmaker's art where beauty - form and function are blended to perfection. The highly decorative handle will fit your hand like a glove - comfortable and ready for hours of sawing pleasure. Balance is excellent. The Carcass Saw is normally used for precise cuts across the grain such as cutting tenon shoulders, however this variation filed rip makes a nice small tenon saw. - Handle: Curly Hard Maple - Cocobolo option is available below
