Smoothing Plane - Gidgee - 8-1/4in. long with a 2in. wide HCS blade is well suited to final smoothing of any lumber surface.
Gidgee is a native Australian wood which is a member of the Acacia family. Woods is carefully selected, cut and dried to produce a stable and reliable tool capable of long service.
Features:
- Length overall: 8-1/4 in.
- Blade size: 2 in. wide x 1/4 in. thick
- Blade material: High Carbon Steel (HCS) Hardened to Rc 62-64
- 60 degree cutting angle works well on figured grain and reverses to 90 degree cutting angle creating a scraper plane useful on difficult grain
- Brass insert reduces wear at mouth
- Body material: Gidgee
- Tee handle permits plane to be pushed or pulled and is easily removed for other hand-grips
