Trying plane - Gidgee - 18in. long with a 2in. wide HCS blade is well suited to final smoothing of any long lumber surface or for jointing. Combined with the Shooting Board (below), ends of boards are easily trimmed perfectly square without end grain tearout.
Gidgee is a native Australian wood which is a member of the Acacia family. Wood is carefully selected, cut and dried to produce a stable and reliable tool capable of long service.
