Block Plane Kit - Cooktown Ironwood - 6-7/8in. long with a 1-1/2in. wide HCS blade is well suited to general purpose planing of small pieces lumber and can be easily used in one hand.

This is an enjoyable project achievable by the beginning woodworker. The links below detail the plane making process and how to setup and use the plane after it is built.

The completed plane pictured in Gidgee above is not included in the kit. It intended only to illustrate the shape of a completed tool. The kit plane wood parts are of Cooktown Ironwood which is very tough and stable. As pictured, the fresh cut wood is a light reddish color but will darken to a deep red with exposure to UV light similar to the way cherry darkens.
