The Planemaker's Specialty Series are fully functional like their standard production planes, but are finished to a much higher standard using special scrapers and very fine sandpaper. Highly figured lumber is selected for the finest color and best grain match. The deep rich browns and blacks of the ebony in this set are exceptionally beautiful.
More than just a pretty face, these planes are engineered with higher cutting angles which perform exceptionally well in figured and difficult woods. This selection of tools enables the woodworker to perform a wide range of tasks from flattening large boards, to trimming tenons and cleaning up the curved back splat of a chair with ease.
