Hock Marking - Violin Knives
Shown (from top to bottom) are the 3/4 in. spear point marking knife of High Carbon Steel. Used right or left-handed, these knives are perfect for scribing fine lines against a straight edge. Available in two sizes.
Burnishers are hardened (Rc64) and polished tool-steel rods which stand up well to constant use on scraper edges.
We offer three sizes of violin knife blades suggested by the late master violin-maker, Hans Weisshaar. Knives designated as Left or Right have bevels on one side of the blade only - See image below for additional detail. Knives which are not designated as Right or Left have bevels on both sides of the blade.
