  Category Description

If you're not fond of sanding, you've come to the right place. Scrapers come in a variety of shapes and sizes but all have one thing in common - they cut the wood using a high angle. This results in a smooth surface and can overcome the tearout experienced with typical bench planes.

Burnishers are used to create a "burr" on the edge of a blade which is really the cutting edge of card scrapers. Scraping planes may be used with or without a burr depending on the preference of the user.
