Stanley No. 51: Skew Blade Chute Plane. - Type 11 plane with "V" shaped trademark on blade (Circa 1910-1919)
Plane appears to been given a protective coating, possibly before World War II and was never returned to service. We removed the coating with soapy water from the top of the blade and a section of the toe to reveal the blade logo and original shiny black japanning visible in photos 1 and 2. Protective coating is clearly visible in photo 3.
there is every indication that this plane will have 99% of the original finishes when the protective coating is removed - a matter we will leave to the buyer.
