Scratch Awl - Small
Scratch awls are one of the most useful tools in a wood shop.
Our SA-1v2 is a really cool little tool. The handle comes to rest in the palm of your hand, the point acting as an extension of your index finger. This immobilizes your wrist and allows you to transfer “weight” to the point. It is ideal for line layout, locating holes, starting screws, and other activities where precise indication is needed.
This new model features an improved point made of hardened Titanium and our standard CNC-turned, anodized aluminum grip. It is 6” in length.
Scratch Awl - Standard
The SA-2v2 Awl is our standard-length awl with a long and fine, hardened Titanium point used for scribing lines on all of your work. This tool is also useful in many other situations where a thin shaft can assist you in your intent. From leather working to starting screws in wood or sheetrock, this is the most common size awl.
Overall length is approximately 8 inches and the grip is anodized aluminum.
Scratch Awl - Bent Tip
Our SA-3v2 Bent Tip awl is unique in the woodworking community. Its history began as a mistake that proved quite useful in the field. When you need to scribe a line in a confined environment the bent tip insures your line stays true to your intent. Lines such as this may not be possible with our SA-2v2 Scratch Awl.
We have also found that the bent tip provides an ergonomic advantage in normal use as well. The bend in the tip eliminates the need for your to bend your wrist to bring weight to bear in many cases, reducing stress and fatigue.
Overall length is approximately 8 inches with a CNC-turned and anodized aluminum handle and a hardened Titanium point.
3-Piece Scratch Awl Kit
Our versatile kit option contains one of each of our three scratch awls (SA-1v2, SA-2v2, SA-3v2) providing an awl for every occasion and saving you money.
We made the kit up using three different colors so that you can easily identify the awl you need if they are stored in racks and the tips cannot be seen.
